F.O. Roe almost single-handedly built the town of Boron from a mining settlement into a real town with streets and running water.  He shares his story of Boron-- what it took to raise the town from its meager beginnings and how it later fell from grace.  And he muses on his hopes for its survival into the future.

Despite a recent union victory against mining giant Rio Tinto, the tiny town of Boron in the Mojave Desert is slowly deteriorating, as a series of misfortunes have turned this once promising suburb on the road from Bakersfield to Las Vegas into a ragtag community struggling to survive.
